- I have been working towards spreading awareness about eye donation since 1981, inspired by an article in the Reader's Digest. After months of research involving visits to eye banks, initial steps towards reaching people were taken at Kalpakkam in Tamil Nadu, where I was posted then. A desire for increasing the footprint resulted in me asking for, and getting, transferred to Mumbai in 1991. All my spare time is devoted to the cause and currently, I deliver lectures, conduct poster exhibitions, put up stalls/table spaces at public places for creating the awareness. Please tell me some tips to motivate more and more people save / protect their eyes and donate it as well.
I'M E.D.S.SARAVANAN,from CHENNAI,TAMILNADU,INDIA.WE all our family members have pledged to donate our eyes. In the year 1984,my father donated his eyes.Removing eyes from the deceased person is very process,on my call to eye bank Docter came to my house at early morning 2a.m in two minutes removed my father eyes without damaging the face. so still my father see the in two persons.

You can try to motivate people by following methods -
Passing on the information directly,by post,by Tel. and e mail etc.
You can forward my brochures to various persons and can request them to forward it further.By this way the vital information can be passed to thousands of persons.
Distribution of detailed brochures in various languages.You can download,print my brochures for this purpose.
(After gaining sufficient knowledge and information) Delivering of detailed lectures in various languages.I can deliver it in Hindi, English and Marathi.
Poster exhibitions can be arranged at various places.
Appeals can be published through news papers,articles can be written.
By bad luck, any demise is there in relation, neighborhood etc.,the next of kins can be requested for eye donation.
Doctor community can be requested to do the same thing while issuing the death certificate.
You can request your employer as well as the infosis foundation too to do something to spread this noble message by various methods.
On your letter head you can print the message of eye donation with eye bank Nos.
Though legally signing of any pledge form is not required,you can try to motivate people to do so.
I think by this way something solid can emerge out.
